| Managing Director Touroperator Riksja is a one of a kind online travel organisation with a very unique, differentiated product concept. In an industry where most organisations still depend on shiny brochures and call-centres for their revenue, our organisation is a pioneer in online marketing. We also offer valuable one-on-one customer service by knowledgeable travel specialists. An ever-growing level of customer commitment between our travellers and our travel products is our goal. Riksja offers autonomous jobs in which personal talent development is key. Above all, we believe that a happy company is a successful company; therefore fun is essential at Riksja. The position: Your main priority within the company will be to further establish the company’s position within the Australian travel industry. In doing so you will have full commitment from the Dutch, English and German partner-offices. You will also be able to benefit from the best-in-class practices, product training and processes which have lead to the success of European operations. As managing director you will be responsible for staff, strategy, planning, finance, marketing and operations. Concurrent with company results in Europe, you will be responsible for leading the company through rapid growth. Within 3 years the Australian office will employ approximately 30 people. Naturally you will also be responsible for fine-tuning the Riksja product concept for the Australian travel industry. The candidate: We are looking for a strong people manager with an entrepreneurial attitude. Due to the nature of our business and the company’s informal lines of hierarchy, the ideal candidate will also excel in an open communication environment. Experience in the (independent) travel industry is a must and preferably you will have travelled extensively to far-away destinations. Naturally, our type of travel will have to appeal to you and we’ll expect you to be our biggest fan. We are also looking for someone with knowledge of the Australian travel industry, particularly at the product, finance, marketing and operations level. The ideal candidate will be highly educated and have specialised in a travel-related subject at bachelor or master level at university. The offer: Depending on the level of responsibility agreed upon, the salary for this position will range up to 130.000$. Should you meet our criteria for this position, you will also be eligible to receive shares of the company. This position will enable you to operate as an entrepreneur with a high-level of autonomy; however at the same time you’ll have a proven product concept and a strong European base to provide you with support when necessary.
